Wow, just dropping by to note that your music knowledge is possibly more eclectic than my own. I'm really quite impressed. A few double-ups and odd ones, but that list really wasn't too shabby. Amusing that you picked Life in Technicolor for Journey's End. After so many interesting lyric matches, it seems like a bit of a meaningless cop-out, as all it really has to say is "wooooh". Very appropriate indeed.
Oh, well, nothing remotely that interesting. The DOCTOR WHO Years works by 'that week's top of the pops', so those are the songs that were being played at the same week at the episode. Any match ups are completely coincidental - like "She's Not Me" for the Doctor's Daughter, for example.
I haven't heard most of those songs, and I got all the info off wikipedia. I am undone.
DALEK - Lonely, Akon
I hate that song but that would make a hilarious clip..
THE EMPTY CHILD - Axel F, Crazy Frog
... that would also be interesting..
THE DOCTOR DANCES - Demon Days, Gorillaz
...how many of these songs HAVE you heard?
ATTACK OF THE GRASKE - Lose Yourself, Eminem
..Eminem on top of the pops that recently? Now I feel old...
TOOTH AND CLAW - When You Wasn't Famous, The Streets
LMAO LMAO LMAO.
Funnily enough Mary Tamm appears in the film clip.
THE IDIOT'S LANTERN - I wish I was a Punk Rocker, Sandi Thorm
Ooh, now that one works..
THE SATAN PIT - Maneater, Nelly Furtado
And that one!
FEAR HER - Hips Don't Lie, Shakira
But not that one. No. Nononono...
ARMY OF GHOSTS - Smile, Lilly Allen
Erm... possibly. The song's all about how nice things look on the surface when you're feeling good - but you look twice and it isn't. Which sort of reflects the Ghosts/Cybermen thing I guess. I mostly remember it because Lily is hotter than you'd think Keith Allen's daughter would be.
..oh, no I'm wrong. I was thinking of LDN. Smile's about getting revenge on an ex-boyfriend. So, that doesn't work.
EVERYTHING CHANGES - Welcome to the Black Parade, My Chemical Romance
Ooh, nice..
DAY ONE - For Reasons Unknown, The Killers
Awesome. Would probably synch up well and it's a great track.
CYBERWOMAN - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit, Fredde le Grand
They're a good match. Hands Up For Detroit the film clip is nothing but three-and-a-half minutes of upskirting, and you're familiar with the Cyberwoman's outfit...
COUNTRYCIDE - Smack That, Akon
The film clip of Smack That has a narrative that's just about as well thought-out as the actual episode. And also features Eric Roberts.
42 - Umbrella, Rihanna
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Ahhh... hehe. He. Ha. Haha! HAHAHAHHAHA!
No, I'm better now... I... er... he. Hehehehe. HAHAHAHA!
HUMAN NATURE - Wake Up Call, Maroon 5
Oh, I like that song. But, you know, it's about killing a guy you find sleeping with your girl. So... debatable relevance.
REVENGE OF THE SLITHEEN - Beautiful Girls, Sean Kingston
Any beautiful girls in that episode? Who could be described as "Just too beeeauwtifool girls..."
THE WARRIORS OF KULDAK - Bleeding Love, Leona Lewis
Any heartbroken women in that story?
And by a remarkable co-incidence the songs for 2008 I have never heard of - in the year where I've been too busy to go to the gym regularly, wherein nothing but ChannelV is shown...
Who knew Duffy made so many tracks? Well, I guess Duffy and her fan club...
OK, I'll just make it clear that no, I haven't heard half these songs. More than half. And the ones I did I rarely liked. But these are the ones in the charts in the relevent episode, and my only deviation is when a song like "Crazy" is number one for most of the season, so I went to top albums of the week from there. Why is Duffy so big? Because they showed four episodes of Torchwood IN THE SAME WEEK, that's why.
LMAO LMAO LMAO.
Funnily enough Mary Tamm appears in the film clip.
But that's not why it's funny, right?
Awesome. Would probably synch up well and it's a great track.
The song title describes why the script was comissioned, I think.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Ahhh... hehe. He. Ha. Haha! HAHAHAHHAHA!
No, I'm better now... I... er... he. Hehehehe. HAHAHAHA!
I wish I'd been expecting that.
Any beautiful girls in that episode? Who could be described as "Just too beeeauwtifool girls..."
Well, all the ugly Slitheen women might make a decent ironic counterpoint...
Any heartbroken women in that story?
Yes. Several. Mind you, one's a computer in drag, but it still counts.
Anyway, I only did this in a vain attempt to get Starship Trooper out of my skull... and that blonde... GAH! Other topics!
